Fleet Maintenance Planner

Hills Tankers is looking for suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of Fleet Maintenance Coordinator in our Pinkenba operation. The position is responsible for the coordination and control of all service, repair &amp; maintenance functions relating to a fleet of over 20 dangerous goods prime movers and related trailing equipment based across SE QLD.
Reporting to the National Fleet Maintenance Manager, it is envisioned that the successful applicant will have a strong working knowledge of ABS and EBS systems, heavy vehicle suspension and braking systems and a solid understanding of the administrative requirements relative to compliance, NHVAS and internal maintenance reporting. 
The successful applicant will work closely with the operations team to schedule equipment servicing and repair while minimising the impact to the operation. Working closely with the driver group to identify unserviceability’s and communicate equipment status will also be an imperative.
The position offers an attractive remuneration package commensurate with experience. 
Recognised qualifications in heavy vehicle repair is desirable and demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office suites as well as recognised fleet maintenance software packages is highly regarded. Candidates with experience managing the maintenance of large fleets, especially fuel tankers would also be favorably considered. A multi combination license and dangerous goods license would be an advantage.

About The Role

Based at Council’s Bexley Depot, this role performs fault diagnoses and plant, vehicle and equipment servicing and repairs to ensure that Council’s plant fleet is safe, fit for purpose and operating at optimum efficiency.

This role works within our team of Mechanics who are fortunate enough to work across the broad range of vehicles and equipment Bayside Council owns and operates.

No two days are the same as you will service everything from whipper snippers to passenger vehicles to large mechanical sweeper trucks.

Please note that whilst the role is primarily based at the Bexley Depot workshop, it may require travel to the Botany Depot workshop, on occasion, to ensure operational needs are met.

About You

Qualified and Licenced Mechanic – preferably heavy vehicle.Ability to fault find and repair hydraulic, diesel and electrical components.SafeWork NSW white card (general construction induction card).Proven team player with a “can do” attitude.MR / HR Drivers’ Licence preferred or willingness to obtain.

The Opportunity 
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Light Vehicle Mechanic to join our team in Victoria. This role involves servicing and repairing our fleet of cars, light trucks, and trailers, ensuring they meet operational standards and safety regulations. The mechanic will play a key role in reducing downtime by performing in-house maintenance, minimising the need for external servicing.  
Your tasks and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

<li>Conduct comprehensive vehicle servicing and repairs for cars, light trucks, and trailers.</li>
<li>Perform routine maintenance and inspections to uphold RPM's vehicle standards.</li>
<li>Respond to breakdowns and emergency repair situations promptly.</li>
<li>Manage parts and inventory required for vehicle maintenance and repairs.</li>
<li>Maintain accurate records and documentation of all services and repairs.</li>
<li>Minor panel repair/ replacement</li>
<li>Electrical fit outs on new fleet vehicles (beacons, reverse beeper etc) </li>
<li>Implement efficiency improvements to reduce reliance on external mechanics.</li>
<li>Assist with the development and implementation of vehicle maintenance schedules.</li>
<li>Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during all maintenance activities.</li>
<li>Provide support for vehicle-related projects and initiatives as directed by the National Fleet and Maintenance Manager.</li>
<li>Occasionally travel to other states to support fleet operations as required.</li>
