About the Position

We are seeking a motivated Project Officer to join the Infrastructure Projects team on a 12 month contract through to August 2027, working 3 days per week (45.6 hours per fortnight). This role offers flexibility and work-life balance, with the opportunity for additional hours to support operational requirements, including the potential for increased ongoing hours in the future.

In this role, you will support the delivery of community infrastructure and asset renewal projects that enhance facilities across the City. You will play a key role in project coordination, administration, stakeholder engagement and compliance, helping ensure projects are delivered efficiently and in line with Council requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating project administration activities including scheduling, procurement processes, and maintaining accurate project documentation and records
  • Assisting with budget tracking, financial reporting, and preparation of funding submissions
  • Undertaking site inspections to monitor progress, verify works, and support workplace health and safety compliance
  • Supporting communication and coordination between internal teams, contractors, community groups, and external stakeholders
  • Contributing to project planning activities, policy development, and preparation of Council reports and briefings

About You

You bring experience in infrastructure, asset or community project delivery within a local government or community-focused environment. You are confident in managing competing priorities and engaging with a range of stakeholders, while maintaining a strong focus on delivering positive community outcomes.

With well-developed communication and organisational skills, you are comfortable coordinating contractors, supporting budgets, preparing reports and ensuring compliance with workplace safety practices. You are proactive, collaborative and committed to building strong working relationships that support successful project delivery.

This role requires relevant tertiary qualifications, or equivalent professional experience, in project management, recreation asset/facility management, business or a related field, together with a current Driver’s Licence.
