Join this established design and engineering company in Sydney, a leader in the industry and responsible for over 3,000 pivotal projects across various sectors including naval defence, aerospace, commercial marine, and oil & gas. Due to continued growth they are currently seeking an experienced Project Engineer to be part of a small but growing team with exciting pipelines of work.

Role and Responsibilities
  
As Project Engineer you will deliver a range of projects related to critical fluid systems (high pressure air and oxygen, fire suppression, water, waste, fuel, etc.) primarily in the defence industry. Key tasks will include:

  • Project management
  • Liaising with suppliers and customers
  • Critical thinking for problem solving
  • 2D and 3D drafting in AutoCAD, Inventor, and Solidworks
  • Producing engineering drawings
  • Technical report writing
  • Performing engineering calculations and analysis
  • Producing and updating technical documentation
  • Technical investigations, functional testing
  • Conducting design tasks in adherence with the quality management system
  • Technical project management under supervision of project managers
  • Liaising with suppliers and customers
  • Supporting Senior Project Engineers in delivering a range of projects related to critical fluid systems, primarily in the Defence industry
  • Ability to work to defined tasks within allocated hours as supervised and directed by Senior Project Engineers
  
Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in mechanical engineering or mechatronics or equivalent Degree must be recognised in Australia
  • 3+ years of experience
  • Able to use MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook
  • Able to use AutoCAD for 2D drafting
  • Able to use Inventor and Solidworks for 2D & 3D drafting
  • Strong technical writing skill
Preferable if you are familiar with:
  • producing engineering drawings to AS 1100 standard
  • Familiar with AUSDEFCON framework
  • reading and interpreting design standards (AS, ISO, etc.)
  • general electrical systems and/or electrical control systems
  • Familiar with product design and development
  • Australian citizenship preferred - permanent residents of Australia will also be considered
