Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of Civil work across Defence, Government and Commercial sectors, we are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our team.

This role can be based in Canberra ACT, however regular travel to project sites across NSW and the ACT will be required.

About the Role

As Project Manager, you will take ownership of the successful delivery of civil construction projects from commencement through to completion. You will be responsible for managing project safety, programme, quality, commercial performance and stakeholder relationships while leading project teams to achieve exceptional outcomes.

You will work closely with our Operations and Construction teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage civil construction projects from start to finish

  • Oversee project planning, programming and delivery activities

  • Manage project budgets, forecasting, cost reporting and commercial outcomes

  • Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, company systems and client requirements

  • Lead project teams, subcontractors and suppliers to achieve project objectives

  • Develop and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships

  • Manage procurement strategies and subcontractor performance

  • Ensure project quality standards, audits and compliance requirements are achieved

  • Prepare and present project reporting, including monthly project reports

  • Identify and support new business opportunities through existing and emerging client relationships

  • Promote a positive safety culture and lead by example across all project activities

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally possess:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline 

  • Previous experience as a Project Manager within civil construction, infrastructure or related sectors

  • Experience working with Tier 1 contractors

  • Experience working on Defence projects or similar secure facilities

  • Strong commercial and contract administration skills

  • Proven experience managing project budgets and financial performance

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders and subcontractors

  • Excellent leadership, communication and negotiation skills

  • Strong understanding of WHS legislation and project compliance requirements

  • Ability to effectively manage project programmes and resources

  • High level of initiative, accountability and attention to detail

Due to the nature of our projects, the successful applicant will be required to successfully complete a National Police Check and satisfy all security and access requirements necessary to obtain access to Defence establishments and other secure client sites.
