The Power Quality (PQ) division at Eaton Electrical provides power management solutions including uninterruptable power supplies (UPS’s), surge protective devices, power distribution units (PDU’s), remote monitoring, software, power factor correction, airflow management, rack enclosures and services. We strive for continued success in leveraging technical innovation to develop next-generation solutions.
Due to growth, we are looking for a Project Engineer to provide high quality, efficient support to the PMO team to deliver customer projects on time and on budget, as well as supporting the development and maintenance of the PQ product portfolio.
Key Duties
Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor assigned engineering projects
Prepare project drawings, SLDs to customers as required
Work with internal resources to have project related technical submittals submitted and approved by client
Establish testing plans (ITP/ITS), on-site training and oversee UPS project Factory and Site commissioning and testing
Prepare the SWMS with assistance of Safety officer and related resources
Ensure UPS project onsite Delivery, installation, commissioning and testing completed as per site requirements
Ensure designs/projects comply with relevant electrical and safety requirements and customer specifications
Lead the solutions to all technical related questions or inquiries from client
Ensure all project work is carried out in a timely and efficient manner, with an eye for detail and customer satisfaction
Perform overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans, personnel’s performance) and report regularly on project status
Prepare and manage the on-site resource schedule and plan
Provide regular project or progress report updates to both Eaton and clients
Review engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions
Comply with the company’s policies and procedures
Working with internal or external resources to have all technical documents submitted for project closing, such as AS-BUILT drawings and Testing Reports, etc.
Qualifications
3+ years experience in delivery project engineering in electrical industry
Experience with UPS or other mission critical systems (battery systems, generators, DC) is ideal
Excellent communication skills
Ability to develop and maintain relationships across diverse stakeholders
Strong ability to quickly learn new processes and technologies, and to adapt to changes in sequences and timelines.
Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineer or similar discipline.
