Construction Project Manager

Solar Start Pty Ltd Location: Byron Bay, NSW ·

Full-time Salary: $100,000 – $150,000 plus super

Solar Start is a renewable energy company operating across Northern NSW and Southeast Queensland. We design and install residential and commercial solar and battery storage systems, as we scale, we're looking for an experienced Construction Project Manager to take ownership of how our installation projects are planned and delivered.

About the role: You'll plan, organise, direct and coordinate our solar and battery installation projects end to end — managing the resources, people and moving parts that get every system installed to a high standard, on time and on budget.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the coordination and prioritisation of resources across multiple installation projects

  • Assess and interpret site plans, electrical drawings and system specifications

  • Coordinate procurement and delivery of materials, plant and equipment

  • Consult with engineers, electricians, installers and trades workers

  • Monitor overall time, cost, quality, budget and risk across projects

  • Manage and monitor adherence to Australian standards, electrical safety and WHS legislation

  • Liaise with stakeholders and coordinate required inspections and approvals

  • Lead and manage subcontractors and crews to deliver projects on schedule

Skills and experience:

  • A bachelor degree or higher in construction management, project management or engineering — OR at least 5 years of relevant experience in a construction/installation project management role

  • Demonstrated experience managing construction or installation projects end to end

  • Strong working knowledge of Australian construction/electrical safety standards and WHS

  • Proven ability to manage schedules, budgets, procurement, contractors and risk

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills

  • Australian work rights
