POSITION DESCRIPTION: Project Manager
Department: Site Team
Reporting To: Construction Manager
Plan, organise, and direct projects through to completion, meeting all planning, operational, commercial, resourcing, cost, and reporting requirements.
Ensure a safe working environment for all employees and subcontractors.
Provide visible leadership to the construction team, fostering a positive work environment through clear communication, constructive feedback, and alignment with company values.
Design and develop strategies, processes, and programs in consultation with stakeholders to manage risk and support project delivery.
Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Identify and resolve site issues, delivering optimal project outcomes.
Promote the organisation as experts in innovative green solutions.

Strong technological literacy (including tablet-based site applications)

Landscape construction techniques (residential and commercial)
Building construction and horticultural practices
Tools and machinery used in landscaping

Participate in design and documentation processes to ensure appropriate construction methodology and scope.
Assist the commercial team with quotations (including demolition works).
Manage project handover from estimating, including schedules, budgets, and risk reports.
Allocate and manage project resources efficiently.
Develop and manage project schedules (materials, crane, and works programs).
Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors regarding materials, timelines, and delays.
Ensure compliance with health and safety obligations.
Implement quality control systems, including Quality Management Plans and Inspection Test Plans.
Source and manage test certificates for site documentation.
Conduct regular site visits to ensure smooth operations.
Maintain communication between client, site, and commercial teams.
Coordinate design changes and updated drawings with stakeholders.
Conduct regular client meetings to review progress and delays.
Manage project correspondence, instructions, and variations.
Identify and mitigate risks related to quality, cost, program, and client expectations.
Conduct weekly project meetings and track action items.
Report risks and disputes to the Construction Manager.
Manage project defects and ensure timely resolution.
Facilitate handover to the maintenance team.
Support contract administration (cashflow, claims, delays, extensions of time).
Raise purchase orders and maintain supplier communication.
Assist with specifications, samples, and inspection plans.
Manage project budgets, including cost control and supplier negotiation.
Support site supervisors with material scheduling.
Assist in tender-stage site reviews and feasibility assessments.
Ensure adequate plant, equipment, and resource allocation.
Prepare Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS).
Coordinate labour and subcontractor resources.
Review and approve employee timesheets.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
Investigate hazards and implement corrective actions.
Ensure all personnel are properly inducted.
Verify suitability of materials and samples.
Ensure proper PPE, uniforms, and professional presentation on site.
Bi-annual 360° feedback (leadership, communication, delegation, feedback)

Quality of project delivery (defects at completion)
