Electrical Project Engineer

At a glance:

In the role of Electrical Project Engineer based in Sydney, you will translate “as‑sold” automation solutions into robust, compliant electrical designs for large-scale material handling systems. Working within a global engineering network, you will coordinate multidisciplinary design activities and support installation and commissioning to ensure successful project delivery. This role offers exposure to complex automation technologies and international collaboration, with travel of approximately 30–50%.

Your Impact:

·        Translate “as-sold” system concepts into safe, efficient, and cost-effective electrical designs

·        Coordinate electrical design activities across system, mechanical, and controls engineering disciplines

·        Ensure compliance with AU/NZ standards and project technical requirements throughout design and delivery

·        Manage interfaces including building, power supply, and procured equipment integration

·        Identify and coordinate solutions for non-standard (“special”) design requirements

·        Support installation and commissioning teams through documentation, troubleshooting, and site coordination

·        Contribute to predictable project delivery by aligning planning, quality, and timelines

What makes you a great fit?​

·        Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline

·        Experience in industrial automation or material handling environments (e.g. conveyors, robotics)

·        Knowledge of relevant standards including AS3000 and machine safety requirements

·        Proficiency in CAD tools such as AutoCAD and/or Navisworks

·        Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across global and cross-functional teams
