Karlayura Personnel are currently seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of a major civil infrastructure project at a large-scale mining operation in Weipa, Far North Queensland.
This is a long-term FIFO opportunity offering the chance to oversee complex civil construction works in a challenging and rewarding environment while leading a high-performing site delivery team.
About the Role
Reporting into senior project leadership, you will take ownership of a significant civil infrastructure package involving major haul road construction, large-scale drainage and culvert works, and contractor management across multiple work fronts.
Working within a self-perform and subcontractor delivery model, you will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities - Lead the delivery of large-scale civil construction projects
- Manage project schedules, budgets and forecasting
- Oversee procurement, tender evaluation and contractor engagement
- Drive production tracking and KPI performance
- Coordinate quality assurance and compliance activities
- Manage technical queries and construction methodology reviews
- Ensure environmental and project management plans are implemented
- Build strong relationships with clients, contractors and stakeholders
- Promote a positive safety culture across all project activities
About You To be successful, you will possess: - Bachelor of Civil Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum 10 years' experience in senior project leadership roles
- Proven experience delivering major civil infrastructure projects
- Strong contractor and stakeholder management capabilities
- Demonstrated experience in project controls, scheduling and cost management
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Strong commercial acumen and problem-solving ability
- Commitment to safety, quality and operational excellence

- Tailings storage facilities and dam wall raises
- Large-scale earthworks and mining infrastructure projects
- Gravity decant structures
- Water management and civil construction within mining environments
- Estimating and delivery within contractor-based project models
