About Us

Armstrong Flooring is one of Australia’s oldest and leading distributors of hard flooring for both commercial and residential markets.  Operating in Australia since the 1960’s, Armstrong Flooring is Australia’s only manufacturer of commercial vinyl flooring at its Braeside manufacturing facility, with national Australian and New Zealand sales teams.  Having recently been purchased by a well known Australian family, the business is now undergoing a major digital transformation during a period of rapid growth in the Australian and New Zealand flooring market on its journey to be a technology driven company.

The Role

Reporting to the IT Manager, this is a newly created role and will play a key role in supporting the delivery of IT and business projects across Armstrong Flooring.  Working alongside an experienced and supportive IT project team, you will be responsible for the delivery of projects across the project lifecycle, contributing to real business outcomes while developing practical capability in project coordination, governance, and stakeholder engagement. A core part of the role is the effective use of the Microsoft 365 suite, particularly Microsoft Planner, Teams, and SharePoint, to bring structure, visibility, and collaboration to project delivery and ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget, and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support IT Manager in the planning, execution, monitoring, and closure of IT and business projects.

  • Coordinate project activities, tasks, milestones, and dependencies across internal teams and external vendors.

  • Maintain project plans, schedules, action registers, and RAID logs (risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies).

  • Use Microsoft Planner to manage and track tasks, milestones, and progress.

  • Use Microsoft Teams to support collaboration, communication, and project meetings.

  • Maintain project documentation, artefacts, and version control within SharePoint, in line with governance standards.

  • Assist in preparing project reports, governance packs, and status updates for stakeholders.

  • Support change requests by documenting impacts to scope, schedule, cost, and risk.

  • Proactively follow up actions, deliverables, and decisions to support project momentum.

  • Identify and escalate risks or issues in a timely and professional manner.

About You

You are an organised, motivated professional who is keen to grow your career in project management within a collaborative and experienced IT team. You enjoy bringing structure and clarity to work, are comfortable juggling multiple priorities, and take pride in supporting projects that deliver real business outcomes. You are proactive, detail focused, and confident using modern digital tools to collaborate, manage tasks, and keep information well organised, while continuing to develop your project management capability.

What You Will Bring

  • Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office 365 suite.

  • Practical experience using Microsoft Planner to manage and track tasks, milestones, and progress.

  • Confident use of Microsoft Teams for collaboration, communication, and meeting coordination.

  • Experience using SharePoint for document management, version control, and project artefact storage.

  • Strong organisational and time management skills with attention to detail.

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross functional teams and external vendors.

  • A proactive mindset with a willingness to learn, adapt, and grow into a future Project Manager role.
