We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Control Specialist to join our award-winning Victorian Electrical team on a full-time basis. Reporting to the Contracts Manager, you will play a critical role in strengthening project programming, schedule control and labour productivity performance across our electrical projects using MS Project and/or Primavera P6.
Key responsibilities include:
Develop and maintain detailed baseline and live construction programs that capture the full project scope, key milestones, critical-path activities, sequencing, and alignment with contractual requirements.
Update project schedules weekly with input from Project Managers and Site Managers, capturing task progress, milestone achievements, and look-ahead plans, and adjusting sequencing and activity durations as needed to reflect actual site progress and mitigate delays.
Collect, consolidate, and verify weekly labour hours and installed quantities from all project sites, ensuring consistent coding and accuracy.
Analyse labour productivity, identify trends, calculate productivity factors (e.g., spent vs earned hours), and highlight deviations from budgeted production rates.
Prepare weekly LAR for business leaders summarising each project's labour performance, productivity metrics, progress against labour budgets, key risks, and trends.
Work with our Project Managers and Site Managers to gather site insights and ensure alignment with head contractor programs.
Present program updates and labour performance in internal project review meetings, clearly highlighting any risks or required actions.
Provide recommendations and support to project teams for improving scheduling and productivity whilst ensuring program compliance
Support business leaders in using planning and productivity tools, guiding project teams to build consistent scheduling and labour practices whilst embedding a culture of disciplined planning and productivity awareness.
To be successful in this role, you will have the following skills and experience:
3–5 years' experience in construction project planning or project controls (5–10 years preferred).
Background in the electrical or building services contracting sector is highly advantageous
Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field (or equivalent industry experience) are highly regarded
Strong hands‑on proficiency with Microsoft Project (preferred) and/or Primavera P6.
Capable of building, maintaining, and updating detailed construction schedules.
Advanced Excel and data analysis capability.
Experience in collecting, managing, and analysing labour productivity data.
Proven ability to work effectively with site‑based teams.
Strong stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and influencing skills.
Current Driver's Licence.
Valid Construction White Card (General Induction).
Willingness to attend construction sites regularly.
Australian citizenship or permanent residency is required for this role.
