We have a long history in manufacturing Sheetmetal and steel products and provide an end to end service, from design to manufacture to installation.
We require a self-motivated, preferably qualified in Sheetmetal Fabrication/Engineering to manage the procurement and be the 2IC to our manager.
Overview:
This role is primarily designed to provide the manufacturing team with accurate and timely planning, purchasing of materials for production and be hands-on when required to meet the contractual obligations and project timelines as directed by the Factory and Site Manager and Project Managers.
Responsibilities:
Regularly liaise with Management, Engineers & Project Managers to understand requirements & answer technical questions regarding manufacturing of each job.
Manage and maintain all data including Purchase Orders, Inventory, against quotes into the company Information Management System currently in MYOB.
Develop and maintain a supplier base to provide best available products, materials, and trading terms.
Work on tools to lead and develop hands-on training of colleagues and assist colleagues in busy times or staff shortages
Liaise with engineers, project managers, and factory manager on all RFQ's to provide the most accurate and cost effective, up to date estimate of costs.
Continual improvement in manufacturing outcomes by constantly liaising with Project Managers to review technical information, materials, and product designs.
Assist Manage the Production Schedule and ensure production targets are achieved.
Assist in Managing costs of each Factory Order including labour and materials
QA all incoming products and identify non-compliance to order and revert to supplier.
Open and close and keeping secure facilities and property of the company
Regular quality feedback to management to achieve continuous improvement of product.
Assist in reviewing all activities and give early warning if problems appear and take corrective action where necessary.
Ensure a safe working environment and maintain records for OH&S activities.
Remuneration
Salary of $75,000+ based on skills is on offer
Superannuation at statutory rate
Monthly RDO after probation period
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Qualifications:
Preferably qualified trade Certificate in Fabrication (Sheetmetal/Engineering)
Experience:
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role with experience with mechanical or drawings
Experience in manufacturing and Sheetmetal work and procurement is essential
Mechanical Engineering background is desirable.
Skills:
Knowledge of production methodologies and economical material usage to achieve best practice and economical manufacturing.
Plan materials purchasing, freight and similar activities.
Ability to interpret drawings and understand the requirements to make the items as specified.
Ability to procure the requirements in a timely manner.
Able to plan a workday/week to multitask including hands on fabrication and procuring materials
Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
Understanding of AutoCAD 2 or similar
Excellent verbal and written communication

Ability to manage workload and time management
Deal with both internal and external suppliers in a professional manner
Work with and alongside of Factory and Site Manager
