WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
We are currently recruiting for a Supply Chain Manager [Aviation Fleet] to lead the end-to-end management of procurement, inventory, logistics, supplier engagement and commercial supply chain activities supporting our multi-type aviation fleet operating in a high-tempo, mission-critical environment.
This role reports directly to the Director of Maintenance, with secondary cross-functional reporting responsibilities to the Director of Finance due to the significant financial management, invoice processing, cost control, budget oversight and charging responsibilities associated with the position.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in minimising Aircraft-on-Ground (AOG) events, improving supply chain visibility, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing supplier performance and supporting operational readiness during peak fire season demand.
This position requires a proactive and commercially minded leader with strong stakeholder management skills, financial acumen and the ability to operate effectively under pressure in a dynamic aviation environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Manage procurement activities for aircraft parts, consumables and repair services, including supplier negotiations and AVL governance
· Manage maintenance budgets, purchase approvals, invoice processing, charging accuracy, cost control and supplier commercial terms
· Establish and manage inventory control systems to optimise stock levels, forecasting, traceability and lifecycle management
· Oversee domestic and international logistics and ensure rapid AOG support capability and supply chain visibility
· Manage supply chain systems and reporting tools to improve data accuracy, reporting capability and system integration
· Ensure compliance with CASA/FAA requirements and support Part 145 / Part 42 compliance activities
· Monitor and review supplier performance, expenditure trends and procurement efficiency
· Provide leadership and supervision to supply chain and technical support personnel (2 x direct reports)
· Support operational readiness and fleet availability across all fleet types
· This role requires the candidate to work across 2 locations: Bankstown Aerodrome & Richmond RAAF Base, with majority time spent at the Bankstown site.
Experience Requirements:
· Experience in supply chain, procurement or logistics, preferably within aviation or a regulated industry
· Strong understanding of inventory management, supplier engagement and commercial procurement practices
· Experience with ERP or maintenance systems (e.g. Corridor, CAMP)
· Knowledge of CASA & FAA certification requirements and aviation maintenance environments
· Experience managing domestic and international supply chains
· Strong financial and commercial management capability, including invoice and budget oversight
· ASIC holder or ability to obtain ASIC Clearance
Desirable Qualifications/Experience:
· Degree in Aviation Management, Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance or related discipline
· Experience supporting aerial firefighting or emergency service operations
· Exposure to Part 145 / Part 42 maintenance environments
· Previous leadership or supervisory experience in technical or operational teams
